My name is Paige. I am the office manager in the Center4SpecialNeeds office and I co-facilitate the Young Adult Social Club with Philip. I am so excited to be part of the C4SN team, and I am so happy with the success of our expanded young adult programs.
Gina and the Center4SpecialNeeds team have greatly supported me as I have grown in confidence over the past year as an employee. Before I came to Center4SpecialNeeds as a participant in the Work It Out! Job Skills Program in 2017, I was feeling discouraged in my personal and professional life. I had recently been diagnosed with Autism Spectrum Disorder, and I was struggling with self-acceptance.
I felt useless, and I did not see how I could contribute to any workplace.
I really felt that I lacked competency in work skills and interpersonal skills. I did not see my potential. Gina has mentored me and supported me in so many ways as I have navigated my new experiences in an office environment. It has not been an easy journey, and Gina has helped me get through my anxiety and stress. I am so grateful for the opportunity to grow at C4SN.
Gina saw my great potential, and she gave me hope.
Not only has Center4SpecialNeeds enriched my life, the organization has also become a compassionate learning environment for a team of young adult employees and volunteers with developmental disabilities. We now have 6 part time staff and numerous volunteers who have special needs. Our team works together in the office to develop our skills and practice effective communication. It is a very unique and valuable opportunity to be with our peers as we adapt to life as an employee.
We also offer the Young Adult Social Club, the Young Adult Mentor Program, and the Work It Out! Program. All of our young adult programs are providing amazing opportunities for individuals in our community to grow with much needed support and peer interactions.
Center4SpecialNeeds is bridging the gaps for young adults who may feel hopeless.
I am so happy to join Center4SpecialNeeds as we provide unique programs for young adults in Ventura County. Before I met Gina, I was feeling discouraged and I could not find any local programs or social groups for someone like me, an independent young adult with a developmental disability. My quality of life has significantly improved thanks to Center4SpecialNeeds.
Thank you for supporting our organization. I hope you will consider making a charitable donation so that Center4SpecialNeeds can continue to provide hope for individuals and families affected by developmental disabilities.
