Work It Out! - Job Skills Program

Are you ready to explore the workforce? Let us help you get prepared.

Center4SpecialNeeds is pleased to be offering a job skills program called Work It Out!, which is designed to educate potential employees with disabilities about the interpersonal and practical skills needed to succeed in the workplace. Students will gain critical personal insight through personality and career assessments. Our job skills program will also provide access to real-world experience via professional guest speakers and field trips to tour local businesses. 

In addition, we will be offering qualifying participants the opportunity to volunteer in our main office, where they will be able to practice their newly-acquired skills as well as help build their resumes. 

Our Work It Out! facilitator holds a masters degree in the field of educational psychology and counseling from CSUN.

 

Our 36-hour informative and interactive course will include these three topics:

Part A: Interpersonal Skills

12 Hours | $160

  • Communication Styles
  • Problem Solving, Critical Thinking, and Decision Making
  • Teamwork, Leadership, and Collaboration 

Part B: Interpersonal Skills

12 Hours | $160

  • Importance of a Positive Mental Attitude and Adaptability
  • Professionalism
  • Strong Work Ethic and Initiative
  • Time Management and Stress Reduction

Part C: Practical Skills

12 Hours | $160

  • How to Obtain and Fill Out a Job Application
  • Resume Writing
  • Interview Techniques
  • Networking
